Please forgive me for not knowing the exact terms for this but I hope you will understand what I am trying to say.

I know TC checks for Subject duplicate, but if there is just 1 extra space or dot or letter then that duplicate check wont work.

Would it be possible to check a files hash/md5/checksum, here I refer to video files, not rar files, and prevent TC from processing or atleast require the user to force processing the file. ?

I assume you are using monitored system with RSS feeds. Can't you just create few feeds and organized them better.
Define rules in your RSS feed... something like this:

I do not use RSS.

I use video files on my local pc and on my RDP.

I dont use Torrents or monitoring folders at all.

It will be slightly slower since I would need to calculate MD5 for each post.

Also it would only work for new posts after you enable that setting since I don't store MD5 information right now.
